The company started by making concrete blocks, but by the 1950s, it diversified by manufacturing prestressed and precast concrete products and by the 1960s, it had expanded to making hollow core concrete slabs as well as being involved in the architectural precast concrete industry. In the 1980s Gage Brothers was able to polish precast and burnish concrete blocks, which makes them look similar to marble or granite. Gage Brothers is now one of two companies that polish precast.
